Hearing Representative


We are looking for an in-house Lien Specialists/Hearing Representative the is extremely focused on client services. The Lien Specialist fills a unique position at the intersection of client services, legal administration, and lien resolution. The Lien Specialist will primarily manage lien referrals from beginning to end while providing world-class customer service to our clients via timely updates. The Specialist will work in our San Pedro office as an essential member of our team. 

For any person with a strong interest in servicing clients, being an essential component to a team, negotiating and litigating liens, this role offers an opportunity to develop a broad spectrum of skills in an environment that is both entrepreneurial and supportive. This role is especially appropriate for individuals with experience in any combination of lien resolution, hearing representation, bill review or workers' compensation claims handling. In particular, people with any of the following types of experience are especially encouraged to apply:


Workers' Compensation/Lien Experience/Bill Review: Experience in workers' compensation from the defense perspective is salient for this position. Prior experience defending against liens is beneficial. We have our eyes open for those that have a background as a paralegal/legal assistant, Lien Negotiator, or something comparable. Extra consideration if you are certified in bill review. 

Billing: Looking for someone that has experience tracking and billing for their time. 

Administrative: experience in working with common office software such as MS office, acrobat, etc. Experience drafting workers compensation legal docs is a huge plus. Should be familair will completeing all WCAB docs, such as Pre-trail conference statements. 

Technology: We are not a tech company but we are very technology focused. Experience and a high level of comfort dealing with new and changing technologies are something we look for. A big plus for those who are familiar with google drive. If you are not used to dealing with various web applications this may not be the job of you. 

Streamlining processes & providing solutions: While you may not have workers' compensation experience, we are looking for people with a passion for solving problems and streamlining processes.
Entrepreneurial élan: finally, and in some ways most importantly, we're looking for people with a demonstrated independent streak.


Excellent Attendance: Must have a stellar attendance record and be extremely punctual. The company heavily relies on this person to secure a spot in line at the Anaheim workers compensation appeals board for our hearing representative.

Roll with the punches mindset: We are a small fast growing company and things constantly change. We expect you to embrace change and see it as a new opportunity rather than a negative.

Complete team player: As an employee in a small rapidly growing organization, we'll need you to help design processes to keep up with our growth. This might encompass any number of special projects, but we figured we'd go ahead and give you the heads up now.
