Claims Assistant

The Settlement Coordinator fills a unique position at the intersection of client services, quality control, and consulting. As soon as a client sends a referral (Walk Through referrals), the case is assigned to the Settlement Coordinator who will review the settlement documents and supporting documentation for accuracy and adequacy. The settlement coordinator will prepare the settlement package and assign it to one of our hearing representatives so that they can present the settlement to a judge for approval. If there is additional information needed the Settlement Coordinator engages with our clients to advise on what it is we needed to proceed.

This role is especially appropriate for individuals with experience in any combination of customer service, legal, or work compensation claims handling capacities. EXPERIENCE WE LOOK FOR:

  • Client service: experience in high-level relationship management. Previous positions where customer service was salient. Must be fanatical with regards to customer service. 
  • Technology: We are not a tech company but we are very technology focused. Experience and a high level of comfort dealing with new and changing technologies are something we look for. previous experience dealing with a CRM or case management system is a huge plus. 
  • Entrepreneurial élan: finally, and in some ways most importantly, we're looking for people with a demonstrated independent streak. This must be balanced with the desire to collaborate and work with a team. 

  • Workers' compensation: Experience in workers' compensation from the defense perspective is very helpful for this position. We have our eyes open for those that have a background as a claims adjuster. legal assistant, hearing representative or paralegal. We also love for people that have provided services to claims adjusters to apply. 
  • Streamlining processes & providing solutions: While you may not have handled workers' compensation claims we are looking for people with a passion for solving problems and streamlining processes.

WHAT WE WILL EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Ensure accuracy & Quality: Independently review through referrals day with over superb accuracy within the first 3 months.
  • Client retention: You must love to provide services to others. Deliver best-in-class service to keep our clients loving us and coming back for more year over year. Our clients need to know that you are there for them and that you get things done. Be able to independently send a request to clients within 2 months.
  • Consultancy: Provide advice and recommendations to clients and hearing reps in the field, resolving any issues they may have and make judgment calls that are consistent with client's best interest and WTS policy without assistance from management within 6 months.
  • Complete team player: As an employee in a small rapidly growing organization, we'll need you to help design processes to keep up with our growth. This might encompass any number of special projects, but we figured we'd go ahead and give you the heads up now.
